Introducing Vaughn Cooper Gilbert

                         We were at Meg's Doctor's Appt. to see lil' Vaughn

        This is the outfit Meg is planning on wearing to the hospital. It's a                          sweatband, wristbands, and a t-shirt that say's "Let's Do This!"

              Here he is, the lil' man of the hour: Vaughn Cooper Gilbert!

The Baby Shower of the Year!

So, as you all know, we had Meg's baby shower on Saturday. Since the boys were unable to attend, I thought I would put up the pictures I got of the going's on:

We made little monster sandwiches.

Cupcakes with cute springy monsters on them.

We had flavored water to drink. We colored lemon sliced and froze them for a fun effect.

The fruit salad was really yummy!

We had a punch bowl filled with Sprite and rainbow sherbet. We also had little monster rubber duckies floating in it.

The treat bags for guests: we made muddy buddy popcorn and put them in little monster boxes we made.

The present table. We played a game of baby shower gift bingo for prizes.

Outside, guests could pull onesies off a clothesline hanging up and decorate it for Meg.

Overall, we had a really fun time. Happy Baby Shower, Smeggs!!!

Well, I graduated today...

There was a whole ceremony and stuff but the fun is what came after the graduation!!

To start off the day my diploma and I played cards.

 Then we baked some cookies.

 We watched some t.v. together.

 I let the diploma listen to our babies heartbeat.

 And to finish off the day we snuggled!

We put pictures up on our fridge of the little guy and our favorite names around him. Our favorites though are Vaughn, Zander and Corbin. Every once in awhile we just randomly snatch one off and slam dunk it in the trash. It's a fun way to pick the name :)

 This one is actually kind of creepy because it's his little face but all I see is a creepy skull.

 This one is my favorite because you can actually see his profile!! He has a little human face! I can see his nose and big pouty lips and his little ear! He has a cute little belly too! I'm in love.

 This one is crazy awesome, he pushed my belly and we were able to see his whole hand! He's waving at me!!

Yankee Doodle Dandy

 So, Matt and I went to Cannon Beach, Oregon for the 4th of July. We went with his family.

Haystack rock is the most notable landmark on the beach.

When the tide was low, there were tide pools right by the rocks that we could walk around. Lots of starfish Actually they are called "Sea Stars" as are not fish (buckle up, you are going to be learning lots on this voyage!)

This intersection is supposed to be haunted by a logger who was killed in the 1940s during a forest fire.

We went to a neighboring city called Seaside to watch fireworks. Aerial fireworks were allowed on the beach and everyone was doing them. It was like a 2 hour fireworks show all around us! While we were waiting, Matt and I played sand pictionary.

Seaside is also important because that was where Lewis and Clark ended their Westward Expedition.

I didn't know that until we got there, but in 1st grade we learn about Lewis and Clark, so I was excited!

We also went to the Tillamook Cheese Factory and saw how cheese was made. We ate ice cream while we toured and got lots of cheese samples.

Nearby, there was a Cape Meares Lighthouse (different than the Tillamook Rock lighthouse) that Matt and I went in. Its really stubby looking, but it is on a very high cliff. It was a very steep hike to it.

It was so beautiful there! Very different from other beaches I have been too.

Hawaii Part Three

We hiked around where the last lava flow occurred. They actually

let you walk around on the active volcano! It was like walking on the moon.

Sulfur Banks

Yes, they do stink. It was also suggested that people

with breathing problems or children should stay 

away. . .but nothing about childish asthmatics?

It was actually cold up there, weird huh?

Dad on the Hike Down to the Volcano

It was the most beautiful and spooky hike we've been on.

We started at 5:30 and didn't get back up until well after dark.

Good thing we brought flashlights! We went back up through

the rainforest at night. No one else was on the trail with us.

Dad's Father's Day Breakfast

The best drink on the island is called POG juice.

(Passion fruit, Orange juice, and Guava juice.)

The bread is guava bread. That's what he fed to

his red-headed bird friend. Oh, and the best

music we found was a Hawaiian reggae station KWXX.
